Czechoslovakia Split Into Two States

1 January 1993. Czechoslovakia split into two states.
After World War II, Czechoslovakia fell under the influence of the Soviet Union. In 1968, an invasion by Warsaw Pact troops to end the country's business leaders to liberalize party rule and create "socialism with a human face" on the Prague Spring. In 1989, Czechoslovakia more freedom through the Velvet Revolution. On January 1, 1993 the country peacefully split into two, creating the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic are independent.
